How to download your Commonwealth Bank statement

Commonwealth Bank lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Transactions can also be exported as CSV. Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.

Download a PDF statement in online banking

  1. Log on to NetBank.
  2. Go to the Account details page for the account.
  3. Select 'Download latest statement' to get the most recent statement.
  4. Or select 'View all statements' and find the one you need by financial year.
  5. On the older NetBank layout, go to 'View accounts' > 'Statements', pick the account, tick one or more statements and select 'Download'.

How far back can you go?

Online statements are kept for up to 7 years (up to 2 years for a closed account). The NetBank transactions page shows up to 2 years of transaction detail; older activity has to come from past statements.

Good to know

  • The new NetBank (rolling out from late August 2026) only exports CSV; OFX and QIF are no longer offered.
  • The new NetBank can no longer email a document for you: download it first, then attach it to an email yourself.
  • The NetBank 'Transaction summary' letter for a chosen period includes at most 100 transactions.

Convert your Commonwealth Bank statement to Excel

Statement PDFs can't be sorted, summed or imported. Drop one on Rowvert and get a spreadsheet with one row per transaction — date, description, debit, credit, balance — checked against the statement's own closing balance. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX and QIF.

  1. Download the PDF statement using the steps above.
  2. Drop it on the converter — no template to choose, scanned PDFs work too.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks / Xero-ready file.

Can I download my Commonwealth Bank statement as a CSV?

Yes: Commonwealth Bank's transaction export offers CSV (steps above). Statements themselves come as PDF. If the export doesn't reach back far enough, convert the PDF statements to CSV with Rowvert.

How do I convert a Commonwealth Bank PDF statement to Excel?

Download the statement PDF, drop it on the Rowvert converter and download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX or QIF. Each row is checked against the statement's running balance, and 1 page a day is free without an account.

Does Rowvert work with scanned Commonwealth Bank statements?

Yes. Scanned or photographed statements go through OCR automatically. Rows read from an image are marked so you can double-check them.

Is my Commonwealth Bank statement stored?

The PDF is processed in memory and never kept. Only the extracted spreadsheet is stored, for your plan's retention window, then deleted.

Which date format will the Excel file use?

Commonwealth Bank statements usually show dates as DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY; Rowvert converts them to real Excel dates so they sort and filter correctly.
