Xero questions
How do I import a bank statement into Xero?
In Xero open Accounting → Bank accounts, choose the account, then Manage account → Import a statement, and upload the Rowvert Xero CSV. Columns already follow Xero's template, so there is nothing to map.
CSV or OFX for Xero?
Both work. OFX carries unique transaction IDs, so re-importing the same statement will not create duplicates; the CSV is easier to open and edit first.
Which date format does the Xero CSV use?
DD/MM/YYYY, Xero's default. Amounts are signed: negative for money spent, positive for money received.
Can I import statements from before the bank feed started?
Yes. Convert the historical PDF statements and import them month by month; each file reconciles to its paper statement, so the Xero balance matches at every month end.
