How to download your CIBC bank statement
CIBC lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.
Download a PDF statement in online banking
- Sign on to CIBC Online Banking.
- Select My Documents in the navigation menu (CIBC's older guide shows a View eStatements link on the My Accounts page).
- Pick the eStatement for the month you need.
- Preview it, then download or print the PDF.
Download a statement in the CIBC app
- Sign on to the CIBC Mobile Banking app.
- Select My Documents in the navigation menu.
- Choose the statement.
- Preview, download or print it.
Export transactions as CSV
CIBC's help pages describe PDF statements but don't list a CSV export for personal accounts. If all you have is the PDF, convert it to CSV or Excel with Rowvert.
How far back can you go?
CIBC keeps up to 7 years of bank account and credit card eStatements online; investment account eStatements start only from the date you registered.
Good to know
- Download Transactions is documented for Online Banking on the website only, not for the mobile app.
- eStatements are not emailed to you; you have to sign on to view them.
- For investment accounts, statements from before eStatement registration are not available online.
Convert your CIBC statement to Excel
Statement PDFs can't be sorted, summed or imported. Drop one on Rowvert and get a spreadsheet with one row per transaction — date, description, debit, credit, balance — checked against the statement's own closing balance. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX and QIF.
- Download the PDF statement using the steps above.
- Drop it on the converter — no template to choose, scanned PDFs work too.
- Download Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks / Xero-ready file.

Can I download my CIBC statement as a CSV?
CIBC's help pages describe PDF statements; a CSV export isn't listed there for personal accounts. Converting the PDF statement gives you the same transactions as CSV or Excel.
How far back can I download CIBC statements?
CIBC keeps up to 7 years of bank account and credit card eStatements online; investment account eStatements start only from the date you registered.
How do I convert a CIBC PDF statement to Excel?
Download the statement PDF, drop it on the Rowvert converter and download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX or QIF. Each row is checked against the statement's running balance, and 1 page a day is free without an account.
Does Rowvert work with scanned CIBC statements?
Yes. Scanned or photographed statements go through OCR automatically. Rows read from an image are marked so you can double-check them.
Is my CIBC statement stored?
The PDF is processed in memory and never kept. Only the extracted spreadsheet is stored, for your plan's retention window, then deleted.
Which date format will the Excel file use?
CIBC statements usually show dates as DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY; Rowvert converts them to real Excel dates so they sort and filter correctly.
