How to download your Scotiabank statement

Scotiabank lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.

Download a PDF statement in online banking

  1. Sign in to Scotiabank online banking.
  2. On the Accounts page, select your bank account.
  3. Select Documents.
  4. Choose the account statement you want and open it.
  5. Save or print the eStatement from there.

Download a statement in the Scotiabank app

  1. Sign in to the Scotia mobile app.
  2. On the Accounts page, select your bank account.
  3. Tap Documents.
  4. Choose the account statement you want to view.

Export transactions as CSV

Scotiabank's help pages describe PDF statements but don't list a CSV export for personal accounts. If all you have is the PDF, convert it to CSV or Excel with Rowvert.

How far back can you go?

Scotiabank says statements are visible online for the last seven years, where applicable.

Good to know

  • The QuickBooks download only includes transactions that are loaded on screen, so keep selecting Load more until the period total appears.
  • An official paper statement has to be requested at a branch, and a fee may apply.
  • Statements can also be reached from the Documents entry in the profile menu or the Shortcuts menu on the home page.

Convert your Scotiabank statement to Excel

Statement PDFs can't be sorted, summed or imported. Drop one on Rowvert and get a spreadsheet with one row per transaction — date, description, debit, credit, balance — checked against the statement's own closing balance. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX and QIF.

  1. Download the PDF statement using the steps above.
  2. Drop it on the converter — no template to choose, scanned PDFs work too.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks / Xero-ready file.

Can I download my Scotiabank statement as a CSV?

Scotiabank's help pages describe PDF statements; a CSV export isn't listed there for personal accounts. Converting the PDF statement gives you the same transactions as CSV or Excel.

How far back can I download Scotiabank statements?

Scotiabank says statements are visible online for the last seven years, where applicable.

How do I convert a Scotiabank PDF statement to Excel?

Download the statement PDF, drop it on the Rowvert converter and download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX or QIF. Each row is checked against the statement's running balance, and 1 page a day is free without an account.

Does Rowvert work with scanned Scotiabank statements?

Yes. Scanned or photographed statements go through OCR automatically. Rows read from an image are marked so you can double-check them.

Is my Scotiabank statement stored?

The PDF is processed in memory and never kept. Only the extracted spreadsheet is stored, for your plan's retention window, then deleted.

Which date format will the Excel file use?

Scotiabank statements usually show dates as DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY; Rowvert converts them to real Excel dates so they sort and filter correctly.
