How to download your Halifax bank statement
Halifax lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.
Download a PDF statement in online banking
- Sign in to Online Banking and open the account you need.
- On the account page, choose 'Statement options'.
- Pick the download option (print and paper-copy ordering are offered in the same place).
- Save the statement to your computer as a PDF.
Download a statement in the Halifax app
- Sign in to the Mobile Banking app and open the account.
- Tap the three-dot menu.
- Choose 'Download or print statement'.
- Pick the month and year you want and follow the prompts to save the PDF to your device.
Export transactions as CSV
Halifax's help pages describe PDF statements but don't list a CSV export for personal accounts. If all you have is the PDF, convert it to CSV or Excel with Rowvert.
How far back can you go?
Halifax says Online Banking gives access to statements up to seven years old, and the mobile app goes back at least ten years.
Good to know
- The app reaches further back (at least 10 years) than Online Banking (up to 7 years).
- Credit card PDF statements cannot be downloaded in Online Banking: you have to ask for one through online chat, or download it in the app instead.
- Halifax's help page states that the Halifax brand is changing to Lloyds, so menu names and the app you use may change.
Convert your Halifax statement to Excel
Statement PDFs can't be sorted, summed or imported. Drop one on Rowvert and get a spreadsheet with one row per transaction — date, description, debit, credit, balance — checked against the statement's own closing balance. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX and QIF.
- Download the PDF statement using the steps above.
- Drop it on the converter — no template to choose, scanned PDFs work too.
- Download Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks / Xero-ready file.

Can I download my Halifax statement as a CSV?
Halifax's help pages describe PDF statements; a CSV export isn't listed there for personal accounts. Converting the PDF statement gives you the same transactions as CSV or Excel.
How far back can I download Halifax statements?
Halifax says Online Banking gives access to statements up to seven years old, and the mobile app goes back at least ten years.
How do I convert a Halifax PDF statement to Excel?
Download the statement PDF, drop it on the Rowvert converter and download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX or QIF. Each row is checked against the statement's running balance, and 1 page a day is free without an account.
Does Rowvert work with scanned Halifax statements?
Yes. Scanned or photographed statements go through OCR automatically. Rows read from an image are marked so you can double-check them.
Is my Halifax statement stored?
The PDF is processed in memory and never kept. Only the extracted spreadsheet is stored, for your plan's retention window, then deleted.
Which date format will the Excel file use?
Halifax statements usually show dates as DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY; Rowvert converts them to real Excel dates so they sort and filter correctly.
