- ✓ Reads files from any bank or finance app
When you need to convert QFX to CSV
- You're leaving Quicken and want your downloads in a neutral format.
- Your bank offers QFX but your app (a spreadsheet, YNAB, a custom tool) wants CSV.
- You want to check a Quicken download before importing it.
How to convert QFX to CSV
- Drop your .qfx file on the converter (up to 5 MB).
- Check that "Convert to" says CSV.
- Click Convert: the CSV file downloads straight away. Nothing is stored.
- Open or import it: Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers — Open the file directly. Dates are written YYYY-MM-DD by default so they sort correctly in every locale.
What happens to your data
- One row per transaction with Date, Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, and Memo, Check number, Type and Transaction ID when present.
- Payee names and memos are decoded from OFX entities.
- Date format of your choice: YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
Importing the CSV file
- Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers
- Open the file directly. Dates are written YYYY-MM-DD by default so they sort correctly in every locale.
- QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Both import CSV bank statements; columns are Date, Description, Amount (plus Debit and Credit), which their import screens can map in one step.
What is a QFX file?
A .qfx file is Quicken's version of OFX. The content is OFX with an INTU.BID tag that identifies the bank to Quicken. Quicken imports .qfx through Web Connect and uses each transaction's FITID to skip lines it already has.
What is a CSV file?
A CSV file is a plain-text table: one row per transaction, columns separated by commas (or semicolons in many European banks). Every bank lays its CSV out differently, with its own column names, date order and sign convention, which is why accounting software often rejects a bank's CSV as it is.
QFX to CSV: questions
Is QFX the same as OFX?
Nearly. QFX is OFX with a Quicken bank identifier (INTU.BID). The converter reads both the same way.
Can I convert Quicken's own data file (.qdf)?
No. A .qdf is Quicken's database, not a bank download. Export the transactions from Quicken first (QIF or CSV), or use your bank's QFX downloads.
Is the QFX to CSV converter free?
Yes. Format-to-format conversions are free and need no account. Files are converted in memory and never stored. Converting PDF bank statements is a separate tool with a free daily allowance.
Only have a PDF statement? Convert a PDF bank statement to CSV — digital or scanned, any bank.
