How to convert QFX to Excel

  1. Drop your .qfx file on the converter (up to 5 MB).

  4. Open or import it: Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, LibreOffice — Open the .xlsx. The Transactions sheet has a frozen header and filters; the File info sheet lists the account, period, totals and ending balance.

What happens to your data

  • Transactions sheet: Date, Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, Memo, Type, Transaction ID, totals row.
  • File info sheet: account, account type, currency, period, money in, money out and the ledger balance.
  • Dates and amounts are typed, so sorting, SUM and pivot tables work without clean-up.

What is a QFX file?

A .qfx file is Quicken's version of OFX. The content is OFX with an INTU.BID tag that identifies the bank to Quicken. Quicken imports .qfx through Web Connect and uses each transaction's FITID to skip lines it already has.

What is an Excel export?

An Excel workbook with typed columns: real date cells, numbers with two decimals, separate Debit and Credit columns and a totals row, so SUM, filters and pivot tables work straight away.

Does it work with credit card QFX files?

Yes. Charges come out negative and payments positive; the account type shows as CREDITCARD on the File info sheet.

Is my file kept?

No. It is converted in memory and returned to your browser; nothing is saved on our servers.
