How to download your Barclays bank statement

Barclays lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Transactions can also be exported. Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.

Download a PDF statement in online banking

  1. Log in to Barclays Online Banking.
  2. Open the menu under your name/profile and go to 'My Barclays documents' (listed under 'My documents and messages').
  3. Select the statement you need from the relevant account.
  4. Click 'Download' above the statement and save the PDF.

Download a statement in the Barclays app

  1. Open the Barclays app and tap 'More'.
  2. Choose 'Statements and documents'.
  3. Select the document you need to view, download or print it.

Export transactions as CSV

  1. Log in to Online Banking and select the account.
  2. Above the transaction list, select 'Export'.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to pick the export type and save the file.

Good to know

  • Payments made through Online Banking or the app only become available to export from the start of the next working day.
  • Delayed (pending) payments do not appear in an export.
  • Online statements are PDF files, so a PDF reader is needed to open them.

Convert your Barclays statement to Excel

Statement PDFs can't be sorted, summed or imported. Drop one on Rowvert and get a spreadsheet with one row per transaction — date, description, debit, credit, balance — checked against the statement's own closing balance. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX and QIF.

  1. Download the PDF statement using the steps above.
  2. Drop it on the converter — no template to choose, scanned PDFs work too.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks / Xero-ready file.

Can I download my Barclays statement as a CSV?

Yes: Barclays offers a transaction export (steps above). Statements themselves come as PDF. If the export doesn't reach back far enough, convert the PDF statements to CSV with Rowvert.

How do I convert a Barclays PDF statement to Excel?

Download the statement PDF, drop it on the Rowvert converter and download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo or CSV), Xero, OFX or QIF. Each row is checked against the statement's running balance, and 1 page a day is free without an account.

Does Rowvert work with scanned Barclays statements?

Yes. Scanned or photographed statements go through OCR automatically. Rows read from an image are marked so you can double-check them.

Is my Barclays statement stored?

The PDF is processed in memory and never kept. Only the extracted spreadsheet is stored, for your plan's retention window, then deleted.

Which date format will the Excel file use?

Barclays statements usually show dates as DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY; Rowvert converts them to real Excel dates so they sort and filter correctly.
