How to download your HSBC bank statement
HSBC lets you download statements as PDF in online banking and in the app. Transactions can also be exported as CSV, Excel (XLS). Below: the exact steps, how far back you can go, and how to turn a PDF statement into Excel, CSV or QuickBooks.
Download a PDF statement in online banking
- Log on to HSBC UK online banking.
- Open the quick links menu and choose 'Statements'.
- Pick the account or statement type you need.
- Choose the year and month; the statement downloads to your device as a PDF.
Download a statement in the HSBC app
- Log on to the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app.
- Select the account you need a statement for.
- Tap 'View statements'.
- Pick the month you want to open; from there you can also share the statement.
Export transactions as CSV or another format
CSVExcel (XLS)
- Log on to online banking and open the account.
- Select 'Search and filter' and set the date range (plus amount or keyword if needed).
- Select 'Search'.
- Scroll to the bottom of the transaction list and click 'Download'.
- Choose the file format and select 'Continue'.
How far back can you go?
HSBC says statements going back up to 6 years can be viewed in online or mobile banking.
Good to know
- Statement files are PDF only; CSV and Excel come from the 'Search and filter' transaction list in online banking instead.
- A statement is only issued for a period when money went out of the account, the balance was below zero, or it was 1 million pounds or more (an annual statement is always issued), so some months may be missing.
- Paper statements can be ordered by phone or chat and take up to 5 working days by post (9 for credit card statements).

Can I download my HSBC statement as a CSV?
